How to choose a vibrator that is right for you?
This may seem like a fairly easy thing to do until you head into an Adult store. There is usually about 1000 or more different vibrators hanging on the wall, each having its own range of colours. You look around and seem overwhelmed and wonder "Where do I start?"
Firstly have some sort of idea whether you want a toy for clitoral (external stimulation) or for vaginal (internal stimulation) or whether you want simultaneous stimulation (i.e. internal & external at the same time).
Now you may be thinking, "How do I know whether I want internal or external stimulation?" Perhaps the best thing to ascertain is do you like clitoral stimulation to orgasm or do you prefer G-spot stimulation to orgasm, or infact do you just want the feeling of a penis inside you? There are no right or wrong answers here and some of you may want all of the above. At least this gives you a starting point and a direction to move ahead in.
Secondly make sure you ask for or find the best quality products. These are not neccessarily the most expensive products. Go for something that is made out of 100% Medical grade SIlicone. Silicone is body compatible and very hygienic. Many women are allergic to latex and rubber products so it is best to avoid these from the outset if possible. If not then use a condom over your toy to prevent any irritation from occuring.
If you decide you want clitoral stimulation there are usually a number of options – bullets, mini vibrators, tinglers, buzzers and so on. Generally these are small and quite discreet looking. You may prefer something that has several speeds & pulsing patterns allowing you to work your way up through the speeds till you find the perfect setting. Or you may just like a very strong vibration and therefore ther is no need for all the speeds and patterns. Just go for one that goes flat out. You will find that these will either come as a cord free bullet or buzzer or a little tingler that has a cord attached to a battery pack. A mini vibrator will have the same look as a normal vibrator but in a mini version and are normally battery operated. There are also clitoral stimulators that come with a long handle allowing for use during intercourse. Believe it or not there are also rechargeable stimulators for cord free, battery free operating.
I recommend the Ammunition of Love power Bullet for strong stimulation. The S-WET 10 speed power bullets for variable settings. The Lelo Mia for the luxury looking rechargeable option and the mini Funfactory range of vibes like the Mini Meany or the Mini Patchy Paul.
If you want a vibrator for vaginal stimulation that is not for g-spot stimulation, then any number of vibrators can do the job. Choose something size -wise that you would prefer in the real thing. At least then you will get something that will satsify you. Make sure the quality is preferrably silicone. Select a model that is easy to operate as many vibrators have buttons, bells & whistles for just about everything inluding the flashing lights which many of the Japanese made toys tend to have. Perhaps try and find one that is not too noisy, if you have children, live with flatmates or have very thin walls between yourself & your neighbours.
I recommend any of the Funfactory Booster vibe range, the Generation II & III range and the Lelo Liv or Iris. For something slimline and simple go for the B-Swish – B-good vibrator.
If you want a G-spot vibrator these are the ones that have a large bulbous head or in some cases a head that has a flattened surface on one side. The reason for this is for the extra pressure/firmness that is needed to stimulate the g-spot. Something that has a lip under the head is good as it catches the "tail" of the G-spot when stimulating it.
I recommend the Lelo Gigi or Funfactory's Booster Stubbie for a vibrating strimulator or for a non-vibrating g-spot stimulator you can use a glass toy or a stainless steel toy like the Njoy wands.
If you are wanting a toy that gives you dual stimulation i.e. internal & external at the same time, you can choose fram those that have a rotating shaft and vibrating clit stim, or one that has pearl beads or metal beads in the shaft that rotate with the vibrating clit stim or one that has no rotating anything but vibrates with a vibrating clit stim. What ever you decide to use in this department, it is preferrable to get one that has two independent motors. One in the shaft and one in the clitoral stimulator. That way you get good vibration in both areas for both areas. Everyone has heard of the "Rabbit i-vibe". This is probably the most popular thanks to the movie "Sex in the City". However, there are some exceptionally great toys on the market these days that will supersede any rabbit in my books.
I recommend the Funfactory Tango, Mermaid or the Lelo Ina.
All of the toys I have recommended are listed on b'eRotique's website for you to view.
Remember to Always ask for assistance from staff. Request that they take the vibrators out of their packaging and put batteries in them so you can compare your selection.
Good luck and happy vibrator shopping
